The technical problem to solve was how to decontaminate aluminium can lids before they enter in the seamer.

When entering in the seamer, can ends are stacked.

UVc lamps are straight and they need direct access to both faces of the lids to make a proper decontamination.

The shortest way is to :

• Separate can lids
• Rotate them 90°
• Treat them
• Rotate them back horizontally
• Stack them

Proto V1 was built in 2024 to validate the general concept.
